| Engaging,
enriching, participative |
| We
initiate and support the development of new curriculum models
which offer a more engaging, enriching and participative
learning experience. Many of our projects seek to achieve
these aims by exploiting and maximising the classroom impact
of new technologies. |
 |
| A
21st century curriculum |
| Working
with partners from all sectors, we are pioneering the creation
of a curriculum which will prepare children for life in
the 21st century, through an emphasis on motivational contexts,
active learning processes, key skills, joined-up thinking,
and global awareness. |
 |
| Clients
from all sectors |
| Our
clients in this area include the Government of Jordan, the
UK DfES, the EU, British Council, British Airways, Channel
4 TV, BBC TV and Dorling Kindersley publishing house. |

| EU
Citizenship |
| Imagine
Education is developing a new course of lessons on behalf
of the European Union which aim to develop concepts of European
citizenship amongst the children of the union's constituent
countries. In addition to this central theme, the program
will provide a vehicle for improving both teachers' and
pupils' ICT skills, as well as offering opportunities for
trans-national collaboration and communication between partner
schools. |
 |
| This
project forms part of the EU's E-Twinning initiative, the
main action of the European Union's E-Learning programme,
launched in 2005. As well as providing schools with activities
for the classroom, we are supporting this initiative through
training workshops which help teachers get to grips with
ICT and digital video, and by working with the British Council
to organise a major event where participating teachers from
all over Europe will have the chance to meet. |

| Jordanian
Education Initiative |
| Throughout
2004-5 we project-managed the development of a new ICT curriculum
for the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, as part of the Jordanian
Education Initiative. This is a major program backed by
the World Economic Forum which seeks to achieve a complete
overhaul of the Jordanian curriculum (and subsequently teaching
methods and pedagogy) in support of the country's transformation
towards a knowledge-based economy. |
 |
| We
were contracted by Microsoft to oversee the creation of
the new ICT curriculum by managing the collective inputs
of the Jordanian MoE, a pool of teachers on secondment and
a local software company, Menhaj Educational Technologies. |
|
 |
| We
devised a model whereby ICT skills will be taught through
integration into a variety of contexts covering all major
traditional subject areas, via a highly engaging simulation-based
interface and active learning processes. At our request,
the program has been validated by Bristol University, a
leader in the field of research into educational technology. |

| British
Council Montage World |
| The
British Council's Montage World project offers an online
catalogue of classroom projects from around the world, all
of which support trans-national communication and collaboration
within the contexts of traditional curriculum areas. Imagine
Education were initially commissioned to develop a number
of sample projects covering subjects ranging from Science
to Foreign Languages to Citizenship. |
 |
| In
addition to the creation of resources for the classroom,
however, we have also supported Montage by developing and
delivering teacher training programs and by evaluating the
quality of projects submitted from around the world, liaising
with teachers to advise on further project development. |
